Nikolaj Rittig completed his medical degree (MD) in 2011 at Aarhus University, Denmark. In 2016, he completed and defended his PhD-dissertation entitled: “Human metabolism during acute inflammatory stress, following 36 h fasting, and in response to protein supplementation”. Currently he is employed at the Regional Hospital of Horsens, Denmark, in a clinical and educational position as part of his path to become an endocrinologist. He continues to perform clinical research studies in connection with his clinical position.
