Through our work on protein-enriched fruit snacks, SMEs have been able to upcycle local fruit, reduce post-harvest losses, and create new business opportunities. The result is a range of nutritious fruit bars now available on the Pakistani market. Sustainability, business opportunities, and better nutrition — all in one model. As the DANIDA–DMDP project soon comes to an end, it’s a good moment to acknowledge the partners who made the work possible. “Hi, I’m Buster Sjöberg from Uppsala, Sweden, and I’m currently part of the Arla Foods Ingredients finance team in Viby, Denmark📍🎉 I joined Arla because the brand has always been a big part of my life growing up. It stands for quality, innovation, and... well, it’s just more exciting than the private‐label cartons in the dairy aisle. The graduate program was also a huge pull, the chance to rotate around the company, learn different parts of the business, and figure out where I thrive. Six months in, I’ve had my ups and downs, but what really sticks with me are the people. I’ve met so many great colleagues, and I keep meeting more every day. Huge shoutout to my manager, Julie, for making me feel at home from the very first day. I’m easily the least experienced in the team, which is actually super inspiring. Every day I learn something new, and people here are so open to collaborating and onboarding you to their projects💡 Even though the grads aren’t together daily, the network across batches and programs is incredibly strong. Moving countries could’ve been overwhelming, but having people in the same boat makes everything easier. I’ve already made friendships I know will last a long time, and I’m excited to see where all our Arla journeys go. And outside of work? Weekly padel (almost 😅), running club, board‐game nights, cold plunges, there’s always something going on. We welcome the confirmation that our alpha-lactalbumin ingredient Lacprodan® ALPHA-10 is not classified as a novel food in the European Union (EU). This regulatory milestone enables its use across all food applications, including early life nutrition products such as infant formula and follow-on formula. This means that early life nutrition manufacturers in the EU can now label Lacprodan® ALPHA-10 in their products using descriptions such as “whey protein concentrate containing alpha-lactalbumin”. Lacprodan® ALPHA-10 is a well-established protein used in infant nutrition and one of our most documented ingredients. Its excellent amino-acid composition makes it particularly valuable in low-protein early life nutrition formulations, helping bring both protein content and composition closer to that of human milk.
