We are born sustainable
Arla Foods Ingredients is built on sustainability: Our company was founded with the sole purpose of turning whey, a waste product from cheese manufacturing, into new nutritional ingredients for human consumption. Getting the most out of a raw material like milk is the essence of sustainability. If you consider the significant carbon footprint of milk production itself, it would seem almost impossible to accept the waste of the 30-40% of dairy solids that goes in the whey. Today, our sustainability efforts include an ambitious 30% reduction of our CO2 footprint and an ongoing cooperation with international relief agencies to help alleviate the effects of malnourishment in children in deprived countries.
