Our biggest responsibility at Arla Foods Ingredients has always been to make the best possible use of whey – our key raw material. Within just a few decades, this former waste product of cheese production has become a recognised source of high-quality proteins, calcium, lactose and other valuable components.
Today, there are many other responsibilities we must consider as we grow our business –related to our impact on the planet and on the lives and prosperity of all people.
Sustainable development goals
The UN’s 17 sustainable development goals are a strong guide that inspires and motivates our continuing efforts to minimise our environmental footprint and to support health, nutrition and human rights.In our 2019 corporate responsibility supplement, we report on how our activities are making a small contribution to nine of the goals.
