Whey hydrolysates

We supply a wide range of partially and extensively hydrolysed whey proteins marketed as Lacprodan®. Many of our milk-based proteins are tailored to specific customer requirements for clinical, functional, infant or sports nutrition.

All our whey hydrolysates have a low bitterness profile and are easy to use in the production of clear UHT protein beverages.

Clinical nutrition
The excellent solubility and heat stability of Lacprodan® hydrolysates makes them ideal when a liquid source of protein is easier to consume than solids. In such applications, hydrolysates provide easily accessible amino acids and are the perfect choice for the production of clear, refreshing beverages.

Infant nutrition
Hydrolysed proteins are vital in formulas for infants diagnosed with an allergy to bovine milk proteins or identified as being in the allergy risk group. During the hydrolysis process, allergy-causing areas on a protein (epitopes) are destroyed or reduced to a minimum.

There are three categories of hydrolysates:

  • Extensive hydrolysates; almost all epitopes are destroyed. Ideal for allergic infants.
  • Partial hydrolysates; minimal number of epitopes are still present. Ideal for allergy prevention.
  • Mild hydrolysates; improve overall protein digestibility and absorption. Ideal for easy digestion.

Sports nutrition
For optimum performance, sports competitors are dependent on the rapid restoration of muscle cells and energy. Whey protein hydrolysates accelerate recovery from exercise-induced muscle damage, ensuring the fast return of muscle strength.

Lacprodan® whey hydrolysates help restore muscle glycogen stores and equip the body to keep on tackling the demands of physical activity. In sports nutrition products, our hydrolysates also provide the optimal combination of amino acids for muscle synthesis.
