Global recession has brought hard times for many companies. Phil Witcomb, product and marketing activity manager, is impressed to see that Arla Foods Ingredients meets the challenges with typical fearless dynamism.
He points to the new application centre in Denmark as a particular example.
Phil started in his current position in the summer of 2009. Prior to that, he spent two years working as key account manager within the company.
“It’s a good place for personal development because there are so many aspects to the business. Everyone is pretty much aligned to the same goals, which are communicated clearly,” he remarks.
His interest for the food industry began with his previous employment for another Danish food company, initially in his home country: England. After four years there, he transferred to the company’s offices in Denmark until he joined Arla two years later. He and his Danish wife live in Jutland and are expecting their first child.
The decision to make Denmark his permanent home came naturally. Having attended a language school in Copenhagen in his late teens, he returned a few years later to study International Business and Marketing at Copenhagen Business School.
“I’ve always just really liked the country,” says Phil. “It’s slightly less hectic than England, and there is more emphasis on quality of life.”
