Milex to be launched in China


This is where the press conference will take place.
One of China’s best known TV personalities will spearhead the launch of the premium product, Milex, on December 10.

The Mengniu Arla joint venture has primarily focused on supermarkets in Southern China. This is why the launch of the Milex brand will take place in Shenzhen, just across the border from Hongkong. The participants in this major event are a professor in nutrition, representatives from Mengniu Arla, media representatives and customers and distributors.

”This is the first time for us to profile Arla as a company in China,” explains Jais Valeur, Managing Director, Mengniu Arla. ”We intend to promote Arla’s more than 100 year history and traditions, but also emphasise Arla’s strengths with regard to modern technology. The fact that Arla is a supplier to NASA and that our partner, Mengniu, is a sponsor of the Chinese space programme will also figure in our presentation.”

 


Imported from Scandinavia, Milex is marketed in China in 400g bags in box packaging and 900g cans. The brand will represent Mengniu Arla’s top of the range and will sell at a substantial premium. One of the reasons for the high price is that Milex is the first milk powder in China to contain both probiotica and prebiotica, which helps digestion and strengthens the immune system.

” We expect to receive a great deal of attention, ” says Jais Valeur. ”In fact, on the very same day we’ll also launch our Mengniu Arla website.”

Earlier this year saw the launch of a mid-range line of products under the Mengniu Arla brand. These products are produced at Mengniu Arla’s milk powder factory outside Hohhot in Inner Mongolia. During the first six months, sales of these products have lived up to the high expectations and continue to be in line with the budget.
