Dano® sales are booming in Bangladesh

Dano® Milk powder is a real hit with Bangladeshi consumers. Last year, they drank 240 million glasses of the product.

"We've succeeded in doubling sales over nine years, a result we're very proud of," says Ahmed Kabir who is responsible for Arla Foods Ingredients in Bangladesh.

While Arla Foods Ingredients has exported milk powder to Bangladesh for more than 40 years, real growth has been evident since 1997 when the then MD Foods signed a joint venture for local packing and distribution. Last year, sales totalled around 6,000 tons, making Dano® the market leader within the branded powder segment in Bangladesh.

"The market is extremely price sensitive and competition is tough. Nevertheless, most consumers go for quality products out of

 

consideration for their children's welfare. Dano® stands for health, quality and reliability and is the most famous powder brand in Bangladesh," explains Ahmed Kabir.

Arla Foods Ingredients' partner, a company called Mutual, is responsible for the import, packing and distribution of Dano®.
