Plans for a new milk powder factory in China are progressing. Detailed proposals are currently being drawn up for presentation to the Mengniu Arla board later in the year.

Following the successful start of the Chinese joint venture, the 8,000 ton production capacity at the factory in Inner Mongolia is expected to be fully utilised soon. Mengniu Arla is, therefore, considering expanding capacity, as previously reported on My Workplace and in the international newsletter Arla World.
An examination of the financial and practical implications has now begun, with detailed proposals in place during the autumn. Mengniu Arla’s board is expected to reach a decision before the new year. Expansion is, however, conditional upon local authority approval.
